To mark this exceptional occasion, the House is unveiling Shalimar L’Essence, an intense variation that encapsulates the distinctive codes of Shalimar: its quintessence. A tribute to modernity, audacity, and the eternal seductiveness of Guerlain's most famous feminine fragrance.
More than a fragrance, Shalimar L'Essence is a declaration of love. That of Delphine Jelk, Creative Director of Guerlain Fragrances, to the icon of the House's heritage, and in particular to its most emblematic note, the keystone of its trail: vanilla. To the ethylvanillin present in Jacques Guerlain's original formula, Delphine Jelk adds precious Madagascar vanilla tincture, the result of Guerlain's ancestral expertise, to give Shalimar new intensity without distorting its signature.
Discreet and subtle, bergamot illuminates the floral heart, which combines rose absolute with the powdery elegance of iris. Gradually, Shalimar's amber unfolds, deeper than ever. Used in excess, vanilla infuses it with new facets that are sweet, woody, and slightly leathery.
